    Biomedical Engineering Discovery Saturday Program

Is your child between the ages of 15 and 17? Is your child interested in STEM and/or health careers? Does your child enjoy building things and working with his or her hands? Are you interested in taking your child’s budding curiosity to the next level? If yes, then your child can participate in a VIRTUAL Biomedical Engineering (BME) Discovery Program on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon via WebEx online platform. The topic for this session is: Prosthetic Leg.

Guided by current health professions students and educators, your child will explore career pathways into BME and other health professions, learn about BME application in health care, and engage in a hands-on exploration of engineering by designing a prosthetic leg facsimile. The cost of attendance is $45 and each student will be shipped a supply kit.

Space is limited so please register ASAP at https://publichealthuconn.wufoo.com/forms/m1283hee0q9hcex/. This program is sponsored by the Connecticut Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Network at UConn Health. More information is available at h.uconn.edu/bme.
