Luz Burgos-López, Assistant Dean of Students in the Dean of Students Office, will serve as the Interim Director of the Rainbow Center, effective Feb 16, 2018. She will continue in her role as Assistant Dean as well during this time.
As Interim Director of the Rainbow Center, Luz will direct the day-to-day operations of the Center and provide leadership on University-wide programs and services for LGBTQIA+ community. She will serve as a liaison to students, faculty, staff, and University leadership regarding sensitive matters related to LGBTQIA+ issues.
Luz joined UCONN in the fall of 2017 and previously held roles as Assistant Dean of Students at Goucher College for the Dean of Students Office and the Center Race, Equity, and Identity (CREI), Advisor for the Vassar College Dialogue Center, Director for the Campus Life ALANA Center, Coordinator for TRANSITIONS, Co-facilitator for Mentors in Violence Prevention at Family Partner Services in Poughkeepsie, NY and Director of Expansion for Sigma Lambda Upsilon/ Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority Incorporated from 2010-2012.
