    UConn Science Salon presents

Whacked: Impact, Sports, and Young Athletes' Brains

    Thursday, February 8, 2018 | 6-9 p.m.
Dunkin Donuts Park - YG Club
    1214 Main Street
    Hartford, CT 06106

Concussion brain damage doesn’t just happen to former boxers and football players. Knock that idea out of your head. Surprisingly, the athletes most at risk of concussions are kids—in particular, boys playing football, girls playing lacrosse, and everyone playing soccer. But we’re not here to tell you to stop your daughters and sons from playing sports (c’mon, we’re UConn!) Instead, at the next UConn Science Salon we’ll bring our experts on athletics, medicine, and the law to discuss how the latest research on concussions is changing the landscape of youth and professional sport. Because we want to keep kids’ brains, and those of the rest of us, at the top of our games.

Join us on February 8 for a spirited discussion. Refreshments and networking begin at 6 pm, the panel discussion at 6:30 pm.
