  • TedxUConn Student Speaker Nomination

    Hello UConn Faculty/Staff!

UConn’s 5th annual TEDx conference will be held April 8th 2018, and we want to invite you to reach out to students who you think would be interested in speaking at this event. Every year our conferences are structured around a theme, and our theme this year is Zero to Hero.

The distinctive processes one goes through, from Zero to Hero, can encompass growth factors, such as mental, personal or physical development, and can induce change at the global, local or individual level.

The TEDxUConn organization is currently accepting applications from those who are interested in speaking in our 2018 conference. We encourage you to share this application with students who you think would be a strong speaker for this conference! The power of TED talks are rooted in their accessibility and relatability, so we ask that students consider how their idea appeals to a global audience!

In addition to the application link above, students are asked to submit a 2 minute video giving a broad outline on the topic of their talk. The application and video submission deadline is February 10th, 2018.

***Video submissions are to be sent via email to tedxcuration@gmail.com***

An information session regarding the student speaker selection process will be held at the beginning of Spring semester. We will be going over the basics of the application process, student speaker expectations, and further steps in the preparation for the conference in April.
