  • 12/31 UConn Law Society Journal Submissions

The UConn Law Society is currently accepting submissions for this year's UConn Law Society Law Journal. This is a great opportunity to get published and work with our journal editors. This year's topic regards U.S law and domestic policy.

    The official prompt is:

One of the leading issues during the 2016 election was immigration, and it has continued to be a topic of hot debate
since President Trump has taken office. Several important programs and policies have been called into question,
such as DACA, the Diversity Visa Lottery, and the US’s use or lack thereof of travel bans. These are only a few of
many. Please choose one immigration issue in particular and discuss the sides of the debate, arguing in favor for one
side. What should be done? How will implementing/removing the policy you choose to focus on affect future
immigration into the US, and what will be the resulting effects on American society?  Things to consider are the
economic, social, and political impacts, the reasons motivating each side of the debate, and ways for lawmakers to
    compromise.

Note: Students are not required to follow the prompt and may submit a paper that they have written for a class that has to do with U.S law and domestic policy. Papers should be 10 to 15 pages in length. All submissions should be sent to uconnlawsocietyjournal@gmail.com by December 31, 2017.
