  • 10/25 Film Showing: From the Land of Gandhi

Prakash Wadhwa introduces and discusses his film "from the Land of Gandhi" (50 min). The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

This is a story of 4 high-skilled immigrants, a decade after they came to study in the US and places a human face to the employment-based Green Card Backlog. The film also highlights the need for reforming America's high-skilled immigration at a time of intense globalization and retirement of the baby boomer generation.

Prakash Wadhwa, based in Kansas City, is the creator of “From The Land of Gandhi’ film. Prakash came to the US in 2003 to get his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla. A decade of his own life experience through the US immigration system inspired the concept of ‘From The Land of Gandhi.’ The idea is to help raise awareness on US high-skilled immigration, and to help raise a voice on an issue impacting one million skilled immigrants from India living in the US.
