  • 8/18 New Express Transit Between Storrs and Hartford

    Dear UConn Students, Faculty and Staff:

    UConn Transportation Services is excited to announce new public transit service, the 913 Buckland – Storrs Express, which will begin operating between UConn Storrs and Hartford on August 13, 2017.

    This route extension will provide UConn students, faculty, and staff the ability to connect to the main UConn campus in Storrs, the downtown Hartford campus, and UConn Health in Farmington via public transit, in addition to a wide variety of other destinations in between.

    This route will provide new opportunities for the UConn community, including the ability to attend classes at multiple campuses, attend sporting events at both the XL Center and Gampel, shop in Hartford and at the Buckland Mall; connect directly to train service from Union Station and with other transit lines across the state.

    This service is free to students with a U-Pass CT and a valid UConn student ID.  Students at the Downtown Hartford, Stamford, Storrs and Waterbury campuses can order the U-Pass CT for free at http://park.uconn.edu/transit-passes/

    The new 913 Buckland – Storrs Express will operate hourly.  The hours of operations will be:

    • Weekdays: 5:45 a.m. to midnight
    • Saturdays: 6:30 a.m. to midnight
    • Sundays: 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

    The bus route will include the following stops:

    • Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center, Storrs Center (Connections to UConn Transportation for travel around campus and for connections to Willimantic)
    • UConn campus Whitney Hall
    • Route 195 at Route 44 (Four Corners)
    • Tolland park and ride lot
    • Buckland Hills Mall
    • Manchester - Buckland park and ride (Bus Stops A & B)
    • Downtown Hartford at Central Row or State/Phoenix (a short walk to UConn Hartford campus and connections to other local and express bus services)
    • Union Station, Hartford
    • CTfastrak Sigourney Street station (transfer available via CTfastrak Route 121 to UConn Health in Farmington)

    At Central Row in Hartford, passengers can also transfer to Routes 30N or 30X to get to Bradley Airport.
