Speech in Noise Testing- Enrolling Children ages 8-15

You are invited to participate in a research study examining speech in noise understanding.  The purpose of this study is to investigate a listener’s ability to repeat back sentences in different types of background noise.  We are conducting this study to determine how performance on this task changes depending on availability of context in the sentence, type of background noise, level of background noise, or visual information.

You may be eligible to participate if you are a native English speaker ages 8-15 or 18-30 years old with normal hearing, normal or corrected-to-normal vision, normal receptive vocabulary, and no history of chronic middle ear infections.  This research study will take about 1-2 hours.  This study does not involve any risk to you.

You will be paid $10/hour for your participation.
