  • 10/25 Bring it to the Table

This event will be held in Konover Auditorium from 7-9pm on Tuesday, October 25.

After her 17-year-old son accused her of being “intolerant” with regard to politics, producer Julie Winokur was so impacted by his statement that she set out across the country on a mission to listen. Rather than continuing to be part of the problem, she decided to become part of the solution. Since ï¬ï¿½lming began in early 2012, Winokur has conducted over 120 interviews in such familiar settings as barbershops, bookstores, churches, the RNC, the DNC and other locations.  It’s a personal, political journey. A sojourn. View the 40 minute documentary Bring it to The Table that chronicles the journey into personal politics. The ï¬ï¿½lm uses candor and humor to examine diverse points of view and the roots of our belief systems. Bring it to the Table can actively foster the cross-pollination of voices and ideas. It is not intended to change anyone’s ideology or political affiliations, but rather to encourage respect, tolerance and genuine dialogue. Discovering shared values and concerns can lead not only to collaborative actions between individual Americans, but it could inspire politicians to do the same.
