  • 10/27 Film Screening: They Called Me Osama

    They Called Me Osama
    Thursday, October 27, 5:00-6:00pm
    Konover Auditorium, Dodd Research Center

Join us for a screening of 'They Called Me Osama,' a short documentary on Sikhi in America. The documentary features first-hand accounts of hate crimes, cyber racism, and bullying experienced by Sikh Americans, and aims to educate those unfamiliar with Sikhi on concepts that are often misperceived in post-9/11 America.

A discussion and Q&A with filmmaker Maneetpaul Singh will follow the screening.

Maneetpaul Singh is a 2015 University of Connecticut graduate with a dual degree in Business Administration and Digital Media & Design. Maneetpaul was awarded funding from the UConn IDEA Grant program to direct and produce the film.

This event is open to the University community.

This event is coordinated by the Office of Undergraduate Research. Attending this event counts towards Sophomore Honors.
