  • 10/24 UConn Against Gun Violence Film Screening + Panel

    UConn Against Gun Violence presents:

A screening of the documentary “91%,” in which “a handful of U.S. gun violence victims tell their heartbreaking stories of loss, pain, and a heroic search for hope in a nation stalled in a senseless gun control debate.” According to a 2013 poll, 91% of Americans are in favor of comprehensive background check legislation. The film finds shared language between citizens on both sides of the issue, encouraging them to move toward common sense policy. The film examines the national conversation surrounding gun legislation by looking at the failure to pass a universal background check.

Following the film, UCAGV will welcome a panel of speakers to discuss the issues, including: the film’s director John Richie; the Executive Director of Connecticut Against Gun Violence, and the President of the UConn Pistol and Rifle Club.

Join us on 10/24 from 7-9pm in Laurel 306 for the screening and panel discussion!
