  • New Director of the Avery Point Campus

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Annemarie Seifert as the next director of the Avery Point campus. Annemarie completed her doctoral work at The University of Texas at Austin and is a native of Connecticut. She currently serves as an Associate Vice Chancellor at The University of Massachusetts, Amherst, focusing on student engagement as well as innovative programs and services for undergraduate and graduate students. She is passionate about maximizing student success and supporting students in achieving their academic and personal potential. Annemarie has more than twenty years of experience in higher education. Prior to her time at UMass, she served as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Georgia Southern University and also worked for 10 years in the Dean of Students Office at The University of Texas at Austin.

     

    We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Joseph Madaus for graciously agreeing to serve as Interim Director at the Avery Point campus during the last year as he focused, among other initiatives, on retention and student success. We welcome his return to the Storrs campus as the newly appointed Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of the Neag School of Education. We also thank the faculty and staff at Avery Point who have supported Joe and our students during this transition.

     

    Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Seifert as she leads the Avery Point regional campus during an exciting period of development.
