Vilém Flusser (1920-1991) was a 20th century pioneer in Media Theory. His ideas, like Ted Nelson's and George Landow's, influenced scholars globally and paved the way for what we call now Digital Humanities. In her project (an annotated website focusing on Flusser’s 1989 essay, hyperlinks, and accessibility), Britta Meredith will illustrate similarities and differences between Flusser’s core ideas and concepts and present the potentials and problems of intermediality. What multiple readings of Flusser’s texts could arise if heterogeneous definitions were neglected? The integration of hyperlinks in Flusser’s work is vital for a deep understanding of his writing, and for illustrating his conceptual frameworks in their interconnectedness.
