  • 11/3 Drawing Fire: Benjamin Pogrund, Lecture on Israel

    Benjamin Pogrund is a South African born journalist, who lived through Apartheid and covered the politics of South Africa apartheid for 26 years. Benjamin Pogrund was deputy editor of the Rand Daily Mail, Johannesburg, and later chief foreign sub-editor of the U.K.'s Independent newspaper. After moving to Israel in 1997 he founded Yakar's Center for Social Concern in Jerusalem. He is the author of "Drawing Fire: Investigating the accusations of apartheid in Israel." He is coming to UCONN to talk about the Arab-Israeli conflict, and how/why Israel is being mislabeled as an apartheid state.
