  • 11/4 Aetna Writer-in-Residence Laura van den Berg

    The reading will take place at 6:00 pm in the UConn Storrs Center Co-op at 1 Royce Circle.

    Laura van den Berg has published collections of stories including What the World Will Look Like When All the Water Leaves Us (2009) and The Isle of Youth (2013). The former, a Barnes & Noble “Discover Great New Writers” selection, was also short-listed for the Frank O’Connor International Award. The latter was awarded the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award from the American Academy of Arts & Letters. Her first novel and most recent publication, Find Me (2015), made the long list for the Center for Fiction’s first novel prize.

    Her work has been reviewed nationally and internationally including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and the UK’s Independent.

    Van den Berg’s writing has been featured in periodicals including Conjunctions, American Short Fiction, Ploughshares, Glimmer Train and One Story.
