  • 11/3 Free Student Art Class with Brent Learned

    Native American Cultural Programs is sponsoring an event with Native American artist Brent Learned on November 3rd from 5:30-9:00 PM in the Student Union Art Gallery (SU 310). Brent will give a 30 minute lecture about his art work and facilitate a guided 3 hour painting class for up to 30 UConn students (first come, first served). Food, drinks, and all painting supplies will be provided. Students must register for the event to attend. To register, students need to send an email with their name to nacp@uconn.edu as soon as possible. Please pass this information on to any of your students who might be interested! 

    Brent Learned is an award winning and collected Native American artist who was born and reared in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. Brent graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor degree in Fine Arts.

    Brent’s work resides in museums such as the Smithsonian Institute-National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C., the Cheyenne/Arapaho Museum in Clinton, Oklahoma, the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City and the University of Kansas Art Museum in Lawrence, Kansas.
