HuskyTHON is having our first fundraising event of the year, ZombieTHON, on Saturday, October 31st, and we want you and your families there!
In case you are unfamiliar, HuskyTHON is a year-long fundraising effort that culminates in an 18 hour dance marathon during our spring semester, raising money for our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Last year, we had nearly 2,500 student dancers and raised over $560,000 for CT Children’s!
A number of events occur annually to help us fundraise, including ZombieTHON. This is our third annual ZombieTHON; a 2.5 mile race along Horsebarn Hill, where human runners must avoid becoming “infected” by the zombies on the course (UConn students dressed in zombie attire). This year, we have expanded the event to include additional fun, fall activities to further engage the families in the local community, including pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating, a costume contest, lawn games, and more!
ZombieTHON will be taking place on Halloween at 2pm on Horsebarn Hill. The cost of the event is $10 if pre-registered online before October 29th, or $15 at the event. This amount includes both the admission fee and the race registration fee. Children ages 10 and under may attend for free, and only children ages 12 and older are eligible to participate in the race with their parent/guardian’s signature (the race can be a little intense for the younger population).
