  • Financial Reporting System (FRS) to Be Shut Down

    Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to inform you that as part of the Mainframe Decommissioning Project the old legacy Financial Reporting System (FRS) will be shut down on July 17, 2015.

    Data

Many of you are using the Kuali Finance Data Mart (KFDM) to access financial accounting data at this time.   On July 1st this data mart will contain three years of KFS data.   We have converted the old FRS History data to Oracle Archive Tables and 22 years of FRS data will be available in DWPROD.

    Reporting

You may need access to a number of WebFOCUS reports that we have developed in the areas of Accounting, Purchasing, Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets that mimic the information retrieved from the old FRS green screens.   A list of the FRS CICS screen replacement reports that were developed can be viewed on the Mainframe Decommissioning website.

Additionally, it is understood that an undisclosed number of reports may have been created in the past by individual Hyperion or FOCUS power users utilizing the mainframe FRS FOCUS Reporting tables.  These tables have been converted to Oracle Archive tables and have been connected to WebFOCUS environments as an alternative reporting solution.

If you require access to the developed WebFOCUS CICS reports or have individual FRS FOCUS reports that you would like to replicate in WebFOCUS, please complete the Non KFS/KFDM Data Access Form and submit it to UITS reporting services to gain access to “FRS History” in WebFOCUS.

If you have questions, comments, or concerns about the decommissioning project please contact Diana O’Donnell at diana.odonnell@uconn.edu.  For general information, visit mainframe.uconn.edu.
