American Diabetes Association Pathway to Stop Diabetes

The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) would like to announce the American Diabetes Association initiative, Pathway to Stop Diabetes.  The Pathway to Stop Diabetes is a limited submission program, and as such the OVPR will be conducting an internal screening process.

Pathway will support creative scientists early in their diabetes research careers, or investigators who are established in other disciplines but who would like to expand their focus to diabetes research.  With awards of $1.625 million over the course of up to seven years, the program will provide researchers the freedom, autonomy, time and focus needed to explore new ideas.

Pathway supports innovative basic, clinical, translational, epidemiological, behavioral, or health services research relevant to any diabetes type, diabetes-related disease state, or diabetes complication. The Association seeks exceptional candidates from a broad range of disciplines, including medicine, biology, chemistry, computing, physics, mathematics and engineering.

    Limited Submission

Because only one nomination can be submitted for this program, an internal screening process is required.  If you are considering submitting an application for the program listed below, an on-line Notification of Intent to Submit must be completed by the requested Intent to Submit Deadline.

Investigators are asked to submit pre-proposals for the internal screening process as per the Guidelines submitting by the requested Internal Screening Deadline.  Be sure to check the Guidelines for updates. Pre-proposals not adhering to these guidelines and instructions will be returned.

    Program Requirements

Limit:  Institutions may nominate a maximum of one investigator per grant cycle.  The nomination can be either of the Pathway award types: Initiator, Accelerator or Visionary.

Intent to Submit Deadline:  May 11, 2015, 8:00 AM
Internal Screening Deadline: May 22, 2015, 8:00 AM
    Sponsor Deadline:  July 1, 2015
