Submissions and volunteers wanted for art and photo exhibit about issues of sexual violence

As part of Sexual Violence Awareness Month, the Violence Against Women Prevention Program (VAWPP) is looking for survivors of sexual or gender-based violence or those who have been touched by this issue to participate in an art and photo exhibit that highlights how these issues affect UConn students. We are looking for volunteers to participate in any of the following ways:

         1. Submit art, photos, or poems about their experiences
         2. Submit messages of support or encouragement to victim-survivors
         3. Be photographed (your face can be obscured if you wish to be anonymous) while holding signs with quotes or messages related to their experience with sexual or gender-based violence. (Inspired by the Project Unbreakable photo project)

The photos and artwork will be displayed together in a semi-public exhibit at the Homer Babbidge Library, April 20th- April 25th. The exhibit is set up so that only those who choose to enter will be able to see the art and photos.

If you or someone you know might be interested in participating, please email projectunbreakable@uconn.edu for more information.
