  • 2/24 Native American Cultural Society--Film Series

The Native American Cultural Society is hosting a Film Series highlighting issues that affect the Native American community. The next film "Two Spirits" will be shown on 2.24.15 at 7 PM in the Rainbow Center Main Room, and will be followed by a facilitated discussion with Fleurette King, the Director of the Rainbow Center.

    About the film:

Fred Martinez was nadleehi, a male-bodied person with a female nature, a special gift according to his ancient Navajo culture. He was one of the youngest hate-crime victims in modern history when he was brutally murdered at age 16. "Two Spirits" explores the life and death of this boy who was also a girl, and the essentially spiritual nature of gender.
