    PUBLIC FORUM TODAY

The University of Connecticut Police Department is looking to achieve reaccreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA©). We achieved our first CALEA Accreditation award in March of 2000. The upcoming triennial assessment will include a comprehensive external review of department policies and practices, public commentary, and public hearings.

Accreditation is a process through which state and local law enforcement agencies voluntarily demonstrate that they comply with international standards which are an indication of professional excellence. Because we thrive on community relations and it is our goal to provide exemplary service, CALEA accreditation assists us in demonstrating our commitment to our community through a vigorous review by CALEA assessment teams, peer review, and public commentary. For more information on the CALEA accreditation process and the UConn Police Department, please visit our website at www.police.uconn.edu.

As part of the assessment process, members of our community and area residents are invited to offer input at a public forum session:

TODAY Wednesday December 17th, 2014 between 3pm and 6pm at

The Student Union Theater; 2110 Hillside Road, Storrs, CT 06269.

Public comments will also be accepted on that same day from 12-2 pm by calling
