  • New European Studies Minor

A new European Studies Minor was recently approved. It replaces two existing minors, one focused on western Europe and the other on eastern Europe and Russia. This new, more broadly conceived minor allows students to pursue an interest in the social, historical, political, and cultural dimensions of Europe and Russia. It is intentionally flexible so that students can pursue an interest in a sub-region or theme or be broadly exposed to European and Russian history, culture, politics, and arts.

The minor will go into effect for students graduating in August 2015 and thereafter.

The minor combines 15 credits of coursework from a variety of disciplines with either a period of study abroad in Europe or Russia, coursework in a European language other than English, or an international internship focused on Europe or Russia. For details on the minor requirements, please visit the minor website: http://iisp.uconn.edu/european-studies-minor/

Please inform students interested in Europe about this opportunity.
