Removal of VHS players from generally scheduled classrooms controlled by the University Registrar

Beginning in January of 2015, University Information Technology Services (UITS) will be removing the VHS players from all generally scheduled classrooms that are controlled by the registrar.

These are the options available to those who continue to use VHS media in the classroom:

    1. We recommend you purchase the media in a DVD format, if available.
    2. If you own the copyright in the media, and are not restricted from doing so, Audiovisual Technologies (AVT) will copy the VHS media to a DVD format.  Please contact avt@uconn.edu if this option applies to you.
    3. AVT will have a small supply of VHS players that can be loaned out for use in the classroom.
    4. If you do not own the copyright in the media, check with the Library (reserveservices@lib.uconn.edu) to see if they have access to the media in digital format (DVD/Streaming) or if they can help you identify a suitable replacement.

For more information on the removal of the VHS players or questions regarding converting your media please contact Audiovisual Technologies at 860-486-1774, or via email at AVT@uconn.edu
