  • Celebrate EcoMadness: Give to Environmental Causes

    October is time for EcoMadness on campus, and donating to environmental causes through the Connecticut State Employees Campaign is a way for UConn faculty and staff to join in.

    The top 20 charities to which UConn employees contributed last year included the environmental cause Nature Conservancy (8640). There are many additional environmental and conservation-related causes on the list of CSEC charities, including the Appalachian Mountain Club (8601), Clean Water Fund (8663), Connecticut Forest & Park Association (8679), The Conservation Fund (8673), EarthShare New England (8600), National Park Trust (7976), National Wildlife Federation (8639), New England Aquarium (8671), Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (8642), and the Sierra Club Foundation (8645).

    You can find these and other charities listed in the CSEC directory online. To find a specific charity of your choice in the online directory, open the pdf, hit the ctrl key and ‘f’ on your keyboard, type the charity you are searching for in the search box, click the down arrow next to your search, and select “find or Open.”

    Please send your completed pledge form to Paula Enderle, UConn-Storrs Coordinator of the 2014 Connecticut State Employees’ Campaign, at U-5075, or by fax to 860-486-0379. You can also scan it and send via email to csec@uconn.edu.

    Together, we can make a difference. Please give generously.

    All faculty and staff who submit a signed pledge form will be entered into a drawing. In this week's drawing:

    • A framed photo taken by University photographer Peter Morenus from the air, showing the Storrs campus amid fall foliage;
    • A gift certificate to the Tri-County Greenhouse (adjacent to the Depot Campus).

    The drawing will be closed on Oct. 22 and winners will be notified directly.
