The UConn Police Department along with the Department of Human Resources and the Greater Hartford Campus Director’s Office will be sponsoring an Active Threat /Workplace Violence training program in October at the Greater Hartford campus. The “Active Threat/Workplace Violence” presentation is designed to give participants a reference on how to respond to an active shooter in their area. The program provides an introduction to the UConn Police Department and information on 911 and the University Alert Notification System. The training includes an instructional video which provides realistic strategies on how to survive an active shooter incident. The training will also include a discussion concerning workplace violence behaviors of concern, your reporting options for workplace violence and strategies for coping with workplace violence.  Warning: This program may be very intense for some individuals.
