Oct. 14 (Tues.) at 11a.m. in AUST 103

Poet Lisa C. Taylor has published four collections, most recently the volume Necessary Silence (Arlen House/Syracuse University Press, 2013).  Her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and she has been published in numerous national journals and anthologies. Lisa teaches at Eastern Connecticut SU and Nichols College and has conducted writing workshops in Ireland and the U.S. In 2009, she received a Surdna Arts Teaching Fellowship, which enabled her to spend a summer in Ireland collaborating with Galway writer Geraldine Mills on The Other Side of Longing (Arlen House/Syracuse University Press, 2011).  Mills and Taylor delivered the joint 2011 Elizabeth Shanley Gerson Irish Reading at UConn. Lisa’s debut short story collection is due out in 2015.

Taylor will read her poetry and that of Arlen House stable mate, Galway poet Martin Dyar, whose planned visit had to be cancelled.
