  • 10/7 Panel Discussion: SportBased Youth Devel - SAfrica

On Tuesday, October 7th, join us in welcoming our visiting South African Fellows who are participating in the Sport for Change Program, a grant program funded by the U.S. Department of State, and developed and delivered by the Global Training and Development Institute at UConn.

As part of this program, we will be hosting a panel discussion featuring sport-based youth development professionals from South Africa and the U.S. who are working in the field of youth sport.

The panel features Dr. Marion Keim and Ms. Nariman Laattoe from the University of the Western Cape, as well as Mr. James Morton, President and CEO of the Greater Hartford YMCA, and Ms. Megan Bartlett, Chief Program Officer at Up2Us.  The panelists' work and research interests focus on community development, multiculturalism, conflict transformation, youth development, and sport as a means for social transformation.

The panel will take place in the Dodd Center’s Konover Auditorium from 11:00am to 12:15pm.
