    About the Speaker

    Dr. Gene Brody is a Regents’ Professor of Child and Family Development and the Director of the Center for Family Research and the Center for Contextual Genetics and Prevention Science at UGA. He is an internationally recognized expert on the risk and protective mechanisms that forecast drug use, sexual risk, and other problem behaviors among rural African American youth and has translated his findings into efficacious preventive interventions. He is the author of more than 300 publications, many of which focus on African American youth development or drug use prevention.
