    Below is some information about the Goodwin scholarship, offered through our office. The deadline is quickly approaching (Thursday October 2nd) and is specific to students applying to Latin and South American programs, so please consider applying!

    DR. PAUL B. GOODWIN, JR ENDOWED STUDY ABROAD SCHOLARSHIP

    Application Deadline for summer, fall, and academic year programs: March 6

    Application Deadline for spring programs: October 2

    One of the first UConn majors in Latin American Studies, Mr. Bruce Lane remembers how traveling in Argentina impacted and transformed his life. To assist new students in having similar opportunities, Mr. Lane has generously established the Dr. Paul B. Goodwin, Jr. Endowed Study Abroad Scholarship in honor of his mentor, Emeritus Professor of History, Paul Goodwin, Jr. The purpose of the Fund is to support University students participating in Study Abroad programs to Latin America and the Caribbean.

    Applicant eligibility

    •  Applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled full time at UConn.
    •  Applicants must be applying to an approved Study Abroad program at UConn.
    •  Applicants must have demonstrated academic achievement.
    •  Applicants must have demonstrated an interest in the study of Latin America and the Caribbean.

    For those candidates that meet the above criteria, priority consideration will be given students majoring in Latin American and Latino Studies.
