  • UConn to host AAHN Nursing History Conference

UConn School of Nursing is hosting the 31st Annual AAHN Nursing & Health Care History Conference September 18-21, 2014. Join us in Storrs and Hartford for inspiring speakers, informative workshops and opportunities for networking and dialogue.

AAHN is a professional organization open to everyone interested in the history of nursing and health care. Originally founded in 1978 as a historical methodology group, the association was briefly named the International History of Nursing Society. The purpose of the AAHN is to foster the importance of history as relevant to understanding the past, defining the present and influencing the future of nursing and health care.

    • Thursday, Sept. 18 – (9am - 5pm) Hartford Hilton, Hartford, CT
      Pre-conference: THATCamp
THATCamp is an unconference: an open, inexpensive meeting where humanists and technologists of all skill levels learn and build together in sessions proposed on the spot. At an unconference, the program isn’t set beforehand: it’s created on the first day with the help of all the participants rather than beforehand by a program committee. There are no presentations — all participants in an unconference are expected to talk and work with fellow participants in every session.
