    Fall Graduate Fellowship Workshop Series

    Graduate STEM Fellowships General Information Session (Tuesday, September 2nd, noon) Whetten 200

    The focus of this workshop is on applying to and winning prestigious fellowships such as the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship program (http://www.nsfgrfp.org/), the National Defense Science and Engineering Fellowship (http://ndseg.asee.org/), Hertz Foundation Physical, Biological and Engineering Sciences Fellowship (http://www.hertzfoundation.org/).

    The workshops will help students understand the application components; will provide tips on how to best address NSF selection criteria of “intellectual merit” and “broader impacts.”

    Graduate Fellowships in Humanities and Social Sciences Information Session (Wednesday, September 3rd, 3-4pm), Whetten 200

    Graduate students are invited to attend a fellowship workshop that will outline eligibility and selection criteria for the major graduate fellowships in the areas of Social Sciences and Humanities. Attendees will learn basic application procedures and next steps for success.

    Graduate STEM fellowships successful applicant panel (Monday, September 8th, 4-6pm), Whetten 200

    Current fellowship recipients will give their firsthand account of the application process and provide tips for success! This workshop is for STEM Fellowship applicants.

    STEM Fellowship Bootcamp Session Sign-up (Thursday, September 11th. 4-5:30pm), Whetten 200

    This session will outline a plan to get your fellowship application done. There will be two follow-up peer review sessions that will be scheduled based on participant interest and disciplines.

    Boren/Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program Information Sessions (Wednesday, September 17th, Austin 103| 4-5pm and Thursday, September 18th.Rowe 420|12:30-1:30pm)

    The Boren/CLS sessions will provide information about opportunities for intensive critical language and cultural immersion programs. The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program offers fully-funded intensive language institutes in thirteen critical foreign languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Turkish, etc. The Boren Fellowship emphasizes less commonly taught languages and long-term linguistic and cultural study, as well as research and academic internships abroad.
