  • UITS Releases Version 2.0 For myUConn

    The Applications and Technology Solutions team (ATS) has released version 2.0 of the myUConn app for iPhone and Android devices. The new version of myUConn, the official app for the University, includes these new features: 

    • Virtual Tours: Choose from several different virtual tours around campus. Take a guided walk through the academic buildings on campus or a leisurely stroll on the Campus Tree Tour. Many other tours will be added soon. 
    • Notifications: View notices about sweepstakes, promotions, news, events and other university information.
    • Polls: Tap on the new polls icon and answer questions that will help us build a better mobile and campus experience for you. You may be asked to enter your NetId to win gift cards for taking the poll!

    myUConn version 2.0 was released on Friday, August 15, 2014 for iPhone, iPad, Android and Android tablets and is free to download and use. Please note that the Android tablet version is only available for screen sizes 1280x800 or larger. Support for smaller tablets will be available in the near future.

    The new myUConn app still includes:

    • Class Schedules: To view your current class schedule on your phone, login with your NetID/password, and your class schedules will be displayed.
    • Bus Tracking Service: See in real-time a bus approaching a scheduled stop using GPS technology. Searches are either by bus line or by a particular stop. In addition, you can view all bus routes in full screen and use the device’s touch screen to pinch and zoom for better detail.
    • Campus Directory:  Browse for e-mail, telephone number, and mailing address of UConn faculty, staff, student, department, etc. You can save recent searches, add people to contact lists, and perform reverse searches using a telephone number.
    • UConn’s Current Course Catalog: Search by career and subject or a specific course and its details. You can also bookmark courses as “favorites” to view later.
    • Interactive Maps: Pick an address or building from the menu, and pinpoint its location.
    • Residence Halls Dining Menus: View dining options throughout the current week. Feature also includes a daily calorie counter and favorites section.
    • Live streams:  Campus emergency alerts; WHUS 91.7 FM radio; and UConn Daily Digest.
    • Student ID Finder: Easily look up a Student Administration (SA) ID, which requires entering a NetID/password.
    • Student Resources: Campus phone numbers, links, and descriptions, which range from tutoring to Public Safety services.
