During the construction of Phase 2 of Storrs Center, Wilbur Cross Way will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until March 31, 2015. This temporary closure will begin on Monday, August 18. During this period, no access to Wilbur Cross Way will be provided from Charles Smith Way or Royce Circle. Access to the downtown will continue to be provided from Storrs Road, Bolton Road Ext., and Dog Lane.
UConn and Peter Pan buses will continue to serve the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center on Royce Circle. The WRTD buses will pick up northbound riders at the bus stop on Storrs Road in front of Price Chopper and will pick up southbound riders at the bus stop in front of EO Smith High School.
Wilbur Cross Way will only be open for deliveries to Price Chopper and for rear access to the University Plaza building.
This is a temporary road closure to ensure safety for pedestrians and cars during construction. Wilbur Cross Way is expected to re-open in April 2015, pending any construction delays due to winter conditions.
