The UCONN Fire Department will be conducting a hazardous materials training exercise on campus Thursday, July 24th starting at 8 am and running into the afternoon. The training exercise will be conducted at South Campus -Rosebrooks. There will be approximately 25 participants from the UCONN Fire Department, the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT-DEEP) and from the CT National Guard Civil Support Team (CTNG-CST).
This exercise will allow for the UCONN Fire Department to work with multiple response agencies at an emergency incidents who have specific technical knowledge on haz mat emergencies. The UCONN Fire Department works routinely with the CT DEEP. This will be the fourth exercise that the UCONN Fire Department has worked with the CTNG-CST.
