    To:       The University Community

From:   Cyrus Ernesto Zirakzadeh, Chair of the University Senate Executive Committee

Re:       University Senate Meeting ~ February 3, 2014

Welcome to a new year of sharing, teaching, learning, and exploring.  And thanks, again, for contributing to a special intellectual community.

On February 3, 2014 the University Senate will hold its first meeting of the spring semester at 4:00 p.m. in Rome Ballroom on the Storrs Campus.  All members of the University community are welcome to observe any University Senate meeting.  Visitors who are not elected senators should use the seats located along the walls of the room (as the seats at the tables are reserved for senators).

The Senate meeting agenda and reports can be found at:
    http://senate.uconn.edu/20140203.senatemeeting.html

The agenda for the February meeting includes two important presentations:

    • An update on the University Budget from Provost Mun Choi
    • The Annual Report on Undergraduate Education and Instruction by Vice Provost Sally Reis

We encourage all members of the university community to discuss issues about the budget and undergraduate education with Senate members.  Senate Committees can also be emailed directly from the Senate website.  Let your voices be heard!
