During this month, we celebrate the memory of one of the greatest Civil Rights leaders of all time; a leader whose dream encompassed racial and economic equity. His dream called for empowerment and liberation.
We believe that education can transform the lives of the 16 million children who grow up in poverty and empower them to make their dream a reality. The issue of education inequity is at the root of so many of our nations largest issues and is, as Dr. King noted, “a threat to justice everywhere.”

Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates and professionals – of all majors, backgrounds, and career interests - who commit to leading students to academic success for two years in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in expanding educational opportunity.
