  • Director, Office of Undergraduate Research

I’m writing to share the wonderful news that Dr. Caroline McGuire has been selected as Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR). I’m confident that she has the skills and expertise to serve in this new permanent capacity, and that she will provide excellent leadership for OUR as the scale of programs expands.

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is an undergraduate Enrichment Program open to all students across the University. OUR works with undergraduates who dream of pursuing substantial projects of research, scholarship, invention, adaptation, and other creative endeavors during their UConn careers. OUR helps undergraduates turn their dreams into reality through coaching and project planning support, encouraging interested students to contact potential faculty mentors, and administering competitions for related funding. To learn more about OUR, please visit www.ugradresearch.uconn.edu

Dr. McGuire previously managed a cluster of three academic departments at the University of California, Irvine. Most recently, she served as Interim Director of OUR. Dr. McGuire earned her undergraduate degree in French at Princeton University and her Ph.D. in Education at the University of Pennsylvania, where her research focused on reading, writing, and literacy.

Please join me in congratulating Caroline and welcoming her to the Enrichment Programs team!
