Volunteer Opportunities

  • Want to Change the Lives of the Incarcerated?

Did you know that “each year approximately 700,000 individuals leave federal and state prisons and about half of them will be reincarcerated within three years”? Interested in changing the lives those stuck in this vicious cycle of hopelessness and illicit activity?

With the support of the Brooklyn Correctional Institute prison staff, the UConn-Brooklyn Collaborative strives to assist offenders with the successful law abiding return to the community by helping inmates pass the GEDs.

The program will run once a week in the mornings from 9AM-noon on Wednesday or Friday, depending on student volunteer availability.
