    Do you work with research data in spreadsheets? Learn best practices for organizing and cleaning your data in spreadsheets, and how to use OpenRefine, a powerful tool for cleaning and transforming messy data.

     

    Are you accessing or generating data for your research?

    Do you have data scattered across multiple files and trying to figure out how to combine that data?

    Learn SQL, the very powerful, open source data management language.

     

    This one-day course is for graduate students, advanced undergraduates, faculty, and other researchers. Prior experience with these tools is not required.

     

    Instructors: Jennifer Chaput, Kendra Maas

    Participants must bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges to install software on.

     

    12/16 8:30am-4:30pm, Instruction Room 1102, Babbidge Library

     

    There is a $15 registration fee which includes light refreshments.
