The next W (Writing-Intensive) Teaching Orientation is on Thursday, December 19, 2019, 9am-2:30pm, in the Heritage Room, Babbidge Library. Faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate instructors, teaching assistants, and staff are welcome.
The orientation outlines UConn’s expectations for W courses and covers integrating course content with writing instruction, balancing informal and formal writing, designing effective assignments, building in effective revision cycles, ecomonizing grading time, and more. While we will focus on W courses, most of what we cover can be applied to any course that includes writing, W or not.

**Graduate students teaching or assisting with a W course or lab for the first time are required to attend.** This policy is included in the General Education Guidelines approved by the University Senate in 2003.
