Seedlings grown from the magical “Swing Tree” birch at Mirror Lake will be on sale at the Floriculture Greenhouses. The “Swing Tree” is a rare species of birch known as the Japanese Black Birch or Dahurian Birch (Betula davurica). Come get a plant of this one of a kind UConn icon for your yard. Or make it the perfect gift for a special gardening friend. Japanese Black Birch is well-suited to growing outdoors in the landscape in Connecticut.
Plants are limited and will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Proceeds from the sale of these trees will go to the UConn Campus Beautification Fund.
