A super resolution confocal microscope has been aquired by the The Advanced Light Microscopy Facility with a NIH shared instrumentation grant. It will be available to UConn researchers as a fee-for-use instrument. This microscope uses the principle of stimulated emission depletion (STED) to improve the resolution of images from fluorescently labeled samples. The facility Director, Chris O'Connell and Dr. Christian Wurm from Abberior Instruments will give presentations to introduce the system and provide sample preparation guidelines.
