The Writing Center will offer a W (Writing-Intensive) Teaching Orientation on Thursday, December 17, 2018, 9am-2:30pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and all faculty, adjunct faculty, graduate instructors, and teaching assistants are welcome.
**Graduate students teaching or assisting with a W course or lab for the first time are required to attend.** This policy is embedded in the General Education Guidelines approved by the University Senate in 2003.
The orientation outlines UConn’s expectations for W courses and features workshops on integrating course content with writing instruction, balancing informal and formal writing, designing effective assignments, and grading.
