  • 11/29 Teaching Critical Thinking Through Close Reading

Thursday         November 29              2:00-3:15         Teaching critical thinking through close reading – in any discipline!

How do you incorporate critical thinking into your course design? How do you build it into class time when class time already seems too short to cover all the content you want to cover? What are some critical literacy activities you can implement in your quantitative or hands-on classes? How would these activities play into the assessment of student performance in the course? In this teaching talk we will share experiences, challenges, and activities that can be modified to fit even a small amount of class time.
