In this presentation, Yuchen Fama and Nathan Lally will give an overview of Munich Re Group and HSB’s (a subsidiary of Munich Re in Hartford, CT) data science capabilities, including big data analytic infrastructure, ML/AL tool stack and use cases. We will also give a deep dive into equipment breakdown loss modeling using Bayesian ML and spatial modeling based on left-truncated/right-censored distribution as well as model validations using quantile residuals.
We are also hiring talented graduate students as our part-time research fellow for HSB’s data science team next year. Students are welcome to bring their resumes and have individual discussions on job opportunities.
