Internationally acclaimed choreographer, dancer, and media artist Jonah Bokaer brings his international troupe of performance artists to the stage at UConn’s Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Friday Evening, October 19th for the World Premiere of his newest work, Late Nights on Air. Featuring the artist’s multi-disciplinary approach to choreography, live musical accompaniment by Angela and Jennifer Chun (special collaboration), and an original score by composer Nico Muhly, Bokaer makes clever use of light, space, graphics, animation, and projection to transform the set (by architect Charles Renfro) into a visually striking story world that captivates audiences and performers alike.

“Jonah Bokaer is contemporary dance’s renaissance man,” said Roslyn Sulcas of the New York Times.

Trained in dance and related disciplines at Cornell University and North Carolina School of the Arts, Bokaer has authored 60 original compositions which have been performed in 292 cities around the world.  His Jorgensen performance begins at 8 pm and will be followed by a post-performance panel discussion with Bokaer, Charles Renfro, and musicians Angela and Jennifer Chun. Doors open at 7:30 pm.
