  • 4/29 'Human Flow' Film Screening and Q&A

The Library recently purchased the film ‘Human Flow’ and will be participating in a nationwide film screening and Q&A with the artist Ai Weiwei this coming Sunday, April 29th at 2:30 in the Class of ’47 at the Homer Babbidge Library.

‘Human Flow’ takes a look at the over 65 million people around the world that have been forced from their homes to escape famine, climate change, and war in the greatest human displacement since World War II. ‘Human Flow’, an epic film journey led by the internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei, gives a powerful visual expression to this massive human migration. Captured over the course of an eventful year in 23 countries, the documentary follows a chain of urgent human stories that stretches across the globe in countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, France, Greece, Germany, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, and Turkey. The film elucidates both the staggering scale of the refugee crisis and its profoundly personal human impact. You can learn more about the film at http://www.rocoeducational.com/human_flow

We are pleased to co-sponsor the screening with Temple Bnai Israel in Willimantic. The screening will be followed by a livestream Q & A with artist Ai Weiwei. The event is free and open to the public.
