Work will be starting shortly on the installation of a new larger water supply for our campus installed by the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) and their contractors. This new supply pipeline is needed to better serve our new and expanded facility needs as well as provide improved fire protection for the campus.  The pipeline work has been going on for over a year on the MDC reservoir property and is about to break through to Old Mountain Road.

The UConn Health campus work will take place on the west side of the 195 Farmington Avenue office building, proceed behind the Grounds Garage, through Shuttle Lot #3 to Circle Road.  The work requires lowering a portion of the berm in front of the 195 building and removing some of the trees on Farmington Avenue.  Site surveying, pavement saw cutting and excavation work will follow.  Notices will be sent out as the work progresses detailing the parking impacts and any impacts to the shuttle bus schedule.  The finished product includes final paving of the lot at 195 and a sidewalk through to Shuttle Lot #3.

On Tuesday, September 5, approximately 50 parking spaces will be blocked off and a construction fence will be installed along the West side of the building. Construction vehicles will enter and exit the fenced area via Shuttle Lot 3 through a gate located next to the Grounds building.

Please use extra caution when traveling in this area.
