    Our next Trends in Occupational Health meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15!  For this meeting, we will be viewing a webinar. The details of the meeting are as follows:

    Topic:  Occupational epidemiology in the time of Trump

    Guest Facilitator:  David Kriebel, ScD, School of Public Health, University of Massachusetts Lowell

    Learning objectives of this discussion:

    1. Discuss three global trends that are impacting the nature of work and its health hazards: globalization, the rise of the knowledge economy, and climate change
    2. Describe recent research on the adverse impacts of economic change on the health of working age populations in the U.S., in particular, on the “diseases of despair”: drug overdose, suicide and alcoholism
    3. To explain opportunities for occupational epidemiology to protect workers’ health during a time of social disruption from the aforementioned global trends.
